First and foremost… on behalf of all of us here at Kubu, I’d like to wish a Happy New Year to you all! 

The “Happy New Year” phase of the year always makes me chuckle. Nobody really knows when it is still OK to be greeting friends, colleagues, and (probably more so in this situation) clients/suppliers with such a festive opener.  It can be quite awkward really, can’t it?

If you’ve not seen or spoken to them until the last week of Jan, is it still OK? Is the first week of Feb pushing it? We used to play a silly game where we’d see who had the gumption to push it as late as possible into the year, and still get a favourable response. I remember that Mid-March once got a very confused look from one supplier… anyway, enough of the silliness! 

January. A fresh start. A clean slate. A new horizon. 

As we usher in 2025, there’s a familiar sense of anticipation in the air – and more than a touch of trepidation too – about what lies ahead. Politics have gone mad again; financial markets are up and down; and there’s plenty of big boys with their big toys having squabbles all over the place. But whether you’re an eternal optimist or someone who prefers a more cautious outlook, one thing we can all agree on is this: change is coming.

For those of us in the fenestration industry, it’s all too easy to focus on the challenges. Rising costs, market uncertainties, and evolving customer demands can paint a gloomy picture. 

But, as I like to remind myself, every challenge also holds an opportunity. With a little perspective and the right tools, we can carve a brighter path through the noise.
